Governor Andrew Cuomo has ordered flags at state government buildings be flown at half-staff this Wednesday in honor of Private 1st Class Mariano M. Raymundo, a Fort Drum soldier who died in Sharan, Afghanistan on Saturday.
The circumstances of Raymundo's death are under investigation, according to the governor's office.
Cuomo has directed that all flags on state buildings be lowered whenever service members from or station in New York are killed in action or die in a combat zone.
