Flatiron does cosy

As far as pubs in this city go, you can’t get cosier than the Flatiron and Firkin at the corner of Church and Front. Its subterranean locale at the base of one Toronto’s most-photographed buildings makes it one of the busier pubs in the chain, not to mention the friendly staff and inviting atmosphere which keep the crowds piling in throughout the week.

Ambience: As far as pubs in this city go, you can’t get cosier than the Flatiron and Firkin at the corner of Church and Front. Its subterranean locale at the base of one Toronto’s most-photographed buildings makes it one of the busier pubs in the chain, not to mention the friendly staff and inviting atmosphere which keep the crowds piling in throughout the week.

Crowd: Expect a slightly older crowd with a few young ones mixed in.

Dress code: Very casual, as you might expect.

Will I get lucky? Don’t bet your last firkin on it.

Should I dance on the bar? Save that sort of behaviour for Pravda across the street.

Cocktail du jour: Beer, but don’t be surprised to see the odd cocktail pass over the bar, but most will stick to mixed drinks and pints.

Hours: Monday through Sunday, 11 a.m.-2 a.m.
