Alberta Health Services have learned their lesson from last year chaos and this year’s flu clinics are running smoother than ever.
“It is a different situation this year,” said Dr. Judy MacDonald, medical officer of health, Alberta Health Services.
“Although we have not seen a lot of influenza this year, we know it is coming.”
About 75,000 people in the Calgary area have already been vaccinated for influenza and this year’s compared with about 48,000 during the same time last year — despite the massive lineups at city clinics.
