It was a mellow end to the four-day Folk Festival, but many Calgarians are already looking forward to next year’s event.

Natalie Reynolds, 34, says she’s already planning to buy a four-day pass again for next year.

“It’s just amazing. It brings all these people together for good music. Everyone was so friendly and this year I think it really reached across to so many different types of people,” Reynolds said.

Folk Festival artistic director Kerry Clark said the weather was great for the festival and they are hearing positive feedback from attendees.

“I think that’s really successful, but success is really how people respond when they get here — are they experiencing new music and artists and are they moved by the experiences?” she said.

Clark was most excited about the variety people experienced at this year’s event, from love and poetic lyrics to political statements.

“It’s a festival of discovery and I think that we’re a very obscure festival, and I think there are artists people know but there are also artists people can experience for the first time.”
