Are you ready for some football?
Ladies night out just got a little more exciting this week with the 18th annual It’s a Snap Ladies Only Football Seminar with the Calgary Stampeders.
The informal, informative and interactive event is held specifically for women to learn more about football, according to the organization.
Jessa Morrison, director of game operations and events, told Metro the fun night will not only teach the basic skills of the game, but offer a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
“They will even get a tour of the locker room by one of the Stampeder players, which is something not a lot of people ever get to do. It’s very exciting,” she said.
The locker room tour is just one part of the night, which also includes a wine and cheese mixer and on-field drills depending on the weather.
“Football can be an intimidating sport for a lot of women, but we’re offering them a way to learn some of the basics so that it can be a lot more exciting for them.”
Tickets for the Thursday night event are $50 and include the in-class sessions, the mixer and the locker room tour, all courtesy of Stampeder Jeff Pilon and nine other players.
Tickets are available at the door, online at www.stampeders.com or the ticket office at 289-0258.
