Former Halifax Mooseheads Logan MacMillan and Guillaume Monast resume their quest for a President’s Cup this weekend as the QMJHL semifinals get underway.
MacMillan’s Rimouski Oceanic — who are hosting the Memorial Cup in May — face the Drummondville Voltigeurs in one semifinal, while Monast’s Quebec Remparts are up against the Shawinigan Cataractes in the other.
MacMillan, a 19-year-old forward dealt to Rimouski in December, has three goals and an assist in nine games. Monast, a 20-year-old defenceman traded as an offshoot of the Brad Marchand deal in the off-season, has nine points in 12 games.
The best-of-seven series get underway on Saturday.
