Former Mooseheads sniper staying in Germany

Former Halifax Mooseheads sniper Jason King appears to be staying in Germany for another season.

King, the Mooseheads’ second all-time leading goal-scorer, has signed with the Hamburg Freezers, according to the Deutsche Eishockey Liga club’s official website.

The 27-year-old forward scored seven goals and added 10 assists for 17 points in 37 games with the DEL’s Manheim Eagles last season. He also spent the 2006-07 campaign overseas with Skelleftea of the Swedish Elite League.

King scored 114 goals among 198 points in 186 games with the Mooseheads from 1999 to 2002. The former Vancouver Canucks draftee has played 59 NHL games.
