A 79-year-old former priest and teacher at St. Pius X High School will be in an Ottawa courtroom on Sept. 1 after being charged with one count of indecent assault.
Kenneth O’Keefe, now living in Toronto, was arrested yesterday.
The charges stem from a complaint of inappropriate contact between a Roman Catholic priest and a teenage male in 1972.
The name of the complainant is subject to a publication ban.
O’Keefe appeared briefly in court yesterday and was released with conditions.
He will stay in Toronto with a member of his religious community.
He appeared to have difficulty walking on his own and broke down in tears after being released from custody.
In early July, former high school teacher William Joseph Allen was charged with three counts of indecent assault.
