Former X-Men star wants flashing case moved

The man facing charges in relation to an alleged flashing spree in Halifax is looking to have his case moved to Cape Breton.

Neil James Wayne MacDonald didn’t appear yesterday in Halifax provincial court for his arraignment hearing in relation to several alleged flashing instances from March 21 to 26, but the Crown said it has been told his defence is trying to have the case moved to Sydney. They added nothing has been finalized.

A new court date for MacDonald in Halifax has been set for June 14.

MacDonald, a 26-year-old Sydney Mines native, who now lives in Halifax, is charged with seven counts of an indecent act in connection with seven incidents that took place mostly in south-end Halifax around Dalhousie University.

MacDonald is a former basketball star with the St. Francis Xavier X-Men. The six-foot-11 centre has also played professionally in Europe.
