Foul play ruled out in Wreck Beach dead body

Police have ruled out foul play as the cause of death in connection with a naked man found dead in the water at Wreck Beach.

The man, whom police have not been able to identify, was discovered on May 22.

An autopsy performed on Sunday ruled out homicide, RCMP announced on Tuesday.

“The investigation to date, which included a search by divers from the Canadian Coast Guard, a search of the shore by a police dog and public inquiries, has failed to identify the deceased,” said Cpl. Annie Linteau.

“Investigators are hopeful that a review of recent missing persons reports will shed light on the identity of the man.”

Linteau said the man was in his late 30s or early 40s, and was fit and well groomed.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
