Halifax Regional Police say they’ve disrupted a fraud ring operating in HRM after four people from the Toronto region were arrested over the weekend.

Henry Oware, 47, Eric Kusi, 45, Nazrene Khan, 23, and Colwin Boston, 22, are facing a combined total of 58 fraud related charges.

Police allege the four were operating a fraud ring in Halifax involving the use of stolen credit card numbers and other personal information to purchase high-volume gift cards. Authorities were able halt the fraud ring after officers responded to a theft of a high-end watch at a store at Mic Mac Mall, police said.

Police arrested two people they say were associates of the robbery suspect at the mall, and three more people, including the man from the original alleged theft, in downtown Halifax.

One man, who lives in Halifax, was later released.

More charges
Police say the investigation is continuing and further charges are anticipated.
