The silliness of Whyte Avenue on Canada Day was topped off with a doggy wedding ceremony.
Meiko, a Bichon-Shitzu-Yorkie, and Molly, a Shitzu-Maltese, went down the aisle at field of Queen Alexandra Elementary School.
“It was love at first sniff,” said Raymond Parker of The Urban Dog, who acted as the priest for the ‘pup’-tuals. Parker said that his Whyte Avenue pet store participated in the silly-theme, and thought that nothing could be sillier than a dog wedding.
The ceremony had dog-sized decorations, and even a table with water dishes for wine glasses. The human attendees were served cake after the ceremony.
