Four 16-year-old boys were arrested Tuesday night after Halifax RCMP say pellet guns were fired at residences and people around the Mic Mac Drive/Crec Street and Norman Road area of Tantallon.
Police say at 9:40 p.m. they responded to a complaint of several youths in a black Honda Civic driving around and firing pellets at homes and people from a single pellet gun. Police later located the youths at the Irving service station on the Hammonds Plains Road. All four were arrested and taken into police custody.
“That’s a pretty serious incident,” said RCMP spokesman Cpl. Joe Taplin. “These youths drive around thinking it’s some type of prank firing pellets at residences. Even though it’s a pellet, it still can cause a serious injury to somebody.”
The four youths were all released to their parents later Tuesday night and Taplin said the investigation is ongoing.
