Acclaimed filmmaker David Cronenberg was presented the French Legion of Honour last night.
The Canadian director was presented with the award by the French ambassador in Toronto on behalf of President Nicolas Sarkozy.
Cronenberg received a medal designating him as a “knight in the order.” The award recognizes outstanding service to France.
Cronenberg’s films have been especially popular in France, where his accolades include a Cannes film fest prize for Crash.
