The Laurier Lounge has been around for a long time, and the romantic, French restaurant is synonymous with it’s specialty — fondue. While I have been to the Laurier Lounge for fondue in the past, and have thoroughly enjoyed it, this time I was there to take part in their famous all-day breakfast.

Last week, they were serving breakfast from Tuesday to Sunday, starting at 9 a.m. However, it seems that I got the last of the weekday breakfasts and, for the summer, breakfast will only be served on the weekends. While their regular menu is a bit pricey, the breakfast menu is reasonable — and incredibly delicious.

For my breakfast at lunch, I chose the French Toast (what else!?) with strawberries. It came with just the right amount of whipped cream and maple syrup on top, as well as a side of seasoned hash browns, and another side of fresh fruit — all for $11. The meal was divine. The French toast was made from loaf-style bread slices and had spent just the right amount of time on the grill. Sitting outside in the sunshine on their large and beautiful outdoor patio was the perfect compliment to the tasty lunch.
