The friend of a man killed outside a north-side home on Good Friday has publicly vowed revenge on Facebook.
"Dallas is all f---ed up, my bro got f---ed up … now it’s on," read a post by the man’s friend, Dallas Powder, on his public Facebook page yesterday.
Meanwhile, the common-law wife of Daniel McKenzie, 23, is still grieving after he was killed in what detectives are saying was a drug-related attack.
"My heart is broken and our lives will never be the same without you in it," said wife Roxanne Powder on McKenzie’s public wall on Facebook yesterday.
"My lover, I would give anything to have you back alive."
Roxanne Powder told reporters Sunday at police headquarters she received an anonymous call minutes before her husband was pronounced dead in hospital.
Roxanne Powder said the caller told her that McKenzie "got what he deserved."
McKenzie was inside a home on 124 Avenue and 82 Street visiting a friend before he stepped outside shortly before 4 a.m. Moments later, he was attacked and a car was seen driving away by witnesses shortly after the attack.
The man was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later, police said.
Homicide detectives did talk to two "persons of interest" and seized a vehicle they believe was involved.
An autopsy is scheduled for later this week, police said.
No arrests have been made and police are investigating.
