It was another successful year at the Fringe Festival with two record-breaking weekends on the books to prove it, according to officials.
Fringe Festival director Michele Gallant said she is happy to report that artist payouts were up 31 per cent over last year, and more than 6,900 patrons took in the week-long festival that ended this weekend with a bang.
“It’s so exciting to hear such good things back from the patrons about the high-calibre of our artists, and we sold out most of the closing-day shows. It’s really good news,” Gallant said of the fifth-year Calgary event.
“It was very successful.”
