As the 2010 Ottawa Fringe Festival enters its final weekend, organizers are estimating attendance will easily top 14,000, up from last year’s total of 12,500.
“We’re thrilled as usual with how the festival’s going,” said Fringe publicist Catriona Leger.
With 60 shows at 16 venues this year, the festival’s largest offering so far, there’s been no shortage of weird and wonderful theatre.
Among this weekend’s performances are Actionable (Grow or Die Productions), Billy Stutter: An Irish Play (FatWhine Productions), CSI: Crime Scene Improvisation (Insensitivity Training), and The Beer Tent: Reflux (mutatis mutandis).
The Fringe Fest began June 17 and continues through the weekend, wrapping up Sunday with a special encore performance from the Best in Fest winners and closing ceremonies and awards.
