Frontrunners hit the street

With a day to go before voters hit the polls, the three mayoral frontrunners kept busy yesterday meeting Calgarians across the city.

Ric McIver spent the day reaching out to folks in each quadrant, including a barbecue in the northeast, where he enjoyed Indian cuisine.

“I’ve been all over the place today and just getting out and talking to as many people as I can and just touch base with big blocks of people,” McIver said.

And it was much of the same for Barb Higgins, who spent the day at various city events, including the Famous Five event at the Palliser.

“It’s been a very busy day, and very positive. I think it’s been a really exciting campaign for us,” Higgins said.

Naheed Nenshi was up bright and early yesterday, serving coffee at the Purple Perk before hitting Market Mall later in the day to rub shoulders with Calgarians.

“It’s been insane but it’s a lot of fun. There were hundreds of people at the coffee shop and everyone has been supportive,” he said.
