The funeral for 17-year-old homicide victim Brittney McInnes is set for tomorrow as the family struggles to overcome her devastating death.
The family issued a statement this weekend asking for privacy during their tragic ordeal.
“It is so seldom that one individual can touch so many lives in such a positive way. Her infectious smile and warm hugs will be missed by all of us,” they stated.
Brittney’s cousin Sharity McInnes said she is missed by all who knew her.
“She was the nicest person you could ever meet. Her smile would bright up the room when she walked in; she had lots of friends and she was best friends with her sister,” she told Metro.
McInnes step-father Bradley Rietze is charged with first-degree murder in her death. McInnes’ funeral will be held at the Lutheran Church of the Cross at 10620 Elbow Dr. SW.
