Furthering agriculture honoured

Combining ideals and traditions of the past has landed 16 southern Alberta families recognition this week at the Calgary Stampede.

The 2010 BMO Farm Family Awards honoured the families during a special ceremony on the grounds and each family received an engraved farm gate sign and free admission to the Stampede, plus rodeo tickets.

“These families are outstanding examples of how far farm management has come and the tremendous contributions they make to the Alberta economy,” Bank of Montreal spokesperson Bill Hogg said.

The recipients of the 2010 BMO Farm Family Awards each demonstrated the critical role they play in furthering Alberta agriculture.
