A woman found outside Gatineau Park Tuesday evening with second- and third-degree burns covering her upper body and face likely attempted suicide, Gatineau police said yesterday afternoon.
A dozen to 20 police officers combed an area of Gatineau Park yesterday after a woman was found with serious burns to over half of her body at around 5 p.m. behind the Gabrielle-Roy campus of the CEGEP d’Outaouais.
Gatineau Police Const. Isabelle Poirier said the white, English-speaking woman is believed to be in her 20s. No other people were found, but at 1:30 p.m., police found some clothes, a fuel container, rags and human hair about 200 metres from the CEGEP property, said Poirier.
