Mayoral candidate Bob Hawkesworth is challenging the leading mayoral candidates to show their support for Plan It, but at least one candidate said he already does.
“Plan It and Plan It-Plus are based on sustainable principles that emphasize greater urban density as part of future development, building Calgary up instead of out,” Hawkesworth said.
Ward 12 alderman and mayoral candidate Ric McIver said he has long supported the 11 city’s sustainability principles for sustainable development.
“I have already supported it and I will continue to do so,” he said, adding he believes Hawkesworth is looking for support.
Hawkesworth called on McIver and fellow candidate Barb Higgins specifically, who also says she supports the city’s Plan It initiative.
