Edmontonians aren’t the only ones gearing up for Capital EX. Kyle Demelo, from Osoyoos, B.C., is planning on flying high during the 10-day exhibition.
The freestyle motocross (FMX) rider has been on a bike since he was three but just started going after big air last year. The 18-year-old said the sport scares him but he couldn’t see himself doing anything else.
“I grew up on a dirt bike,” he said. “It’s all I’ve ever known how to do. I can’t play soccer, I can’t play basketball, but I’m good at riding a dirt bike.”
FMX and BMX riders will be performing Big Air Insanity demonstrations throughout the exhibition at the EX Zone.
