While it may have been hard to part with her long locks, one young Calgarian is glad to help out those in need.
Last weekend Leeloo Lengagne, 6, made the decision to donate eight inches of her beloved hair for cancer patients.
Leeloo said she was growing her hair out for about three years and was proud of how long it was.
“It was hard to get the knots out, I had to keep brushing my hair,” she said.
Leeloo’s mother Leanne Lengagne said after several trips to the hairdresser, Leeloo was finally convinced to cut her hair.
“This time the hairdresser said if you’re going to get your hair cut short why don’t we donate your hair,” she said.
“It was the donation that made her finally decide to get it cut off.”
Leeloo’s hair will be sent to Edmonton to the Microsurgical Hair Restoration Clinic to be made into a wig.
