Re: Ignorance on the Subway.
I am a 26-year-old who knows that when someone comes on the subway with crutches (the cars were packed but you could still move) you should offer them your seat.
I am angry with myself for not speaking up, and infuriated with the three ignorant, inconsiderate people that were on the subway Tuesday, Sept., 19 at 8:40 a.m. Not one of the three people (two women and one man) who were approximately 35 to 45 years old offered their seat. I would think at this age they should know better! Their seats were not even offered when she had to get off the train to let other people off! Where is the courtesy? Do we have to start giving people etiquette classes?
I hope that these people read this paper and feel horrible, as they should. Afraid to offend? If you’re healthy still offer — it’s the right thing to do.
