FIXED! After 12-hour outage, Apple reopens iTunes, App store

Apple enthusiasts stunned by unusual #fail for the technology giant

An outage that shut down Apple’s iTunes, iBooks and App Store started at 5 a.m. Wednesday and wasn’t fixed for nearly 12 hours.

The global shutdown made it impossible to iPhone and iPad users to connect to the company’s services.

Almost all day, Apple’s system status page showed four of its dozens of services down -- but they were the big ones: iTunes, iBooks, App Store, and Mac App store.
