‘Good sign’ for Mooseheads

It’s premature to call the Halifax Mooseheads road warriors, but at least last season’s ineptitude seems to be behind them.

The Mooseheads, who won a meagre three road games in 34 attempts last season, have already won two of three games away from the Metro Centre this season and are looking for more as they play three games in three days in Quebec this weekend.

Nobody’s getting carried away, but the Mooseheads like what they’re seeing.

“We just have to start winning at home now,” Mooseheads head coach Cam Russell said with a laugh. “No, it’s a really good sign. There are lots of good things happening … young guys scoring goals, defence looks solid, and we’re happy with a lot of different areas of our game now.”

Russell said he plans to roll four lines and “manage ice time” to help his young team get through the weekend.
