The federal government and the four Atlantic provinces yesterday announced contributions totalling $150,000 to the Atlantic Film Festival Association’s Strategic Partners Co-production Market and Inspired Series.
The events run Thursday through Sept. 26 as part of the festival.
According to a federal government release, Strategic Partners helps producers find national and international partners for film and TV projects, while Inspired Series delivers a venue for professionals in the industry to review scripts, documentary film and music.
“We believe it’s important to invest in initiatives like Strategic Partners and Inspired Series events because of their success in creating new market opportunities, attracting new investment and helping cultural industries and our economy grow,” Kevin Ashfield, Minister of State for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, said in a release.
This year’s festival includes 235 titles to be shown over 10 days.
