Grace hospital up for grabs as Salvation Army backs out

The future of Toronto Grace hospital is up in the air after the Salvation Army informed the provincial government they no longer wish to own and ­operate the downtown site, the Toronto Star has learn­ed.

 

The Salvation Army operates the 119 bed facility that sits on a prime piece of real estate downtown Toronto at the corner of Church Street, and, Bloor Avenue East.

The Toronto local health unit which controls health services in the city on behalf of the province, announced it intends to put out a request for proposals for new owners and operators of the site by mid-February.
