RIMBEY, Alta. - A Grade 9 student in central Alberta has died while running laps during football practice.
Corey Walsh, 16, died Monday after collapsing on the field at Rimbey Junior Senior High School.
Reports say Walsh had an underlying medical condition that both the school and his family were aware of.
More than 300 people have joined a Facebook memorial page for the teen.
One person wrote that Walsh was loved by many and brought smiles and laughter to everyone.
His friends say the community of Rimbey is in mourning.
