The Griffin’s Lair at Grant MacEwan University was filled with delegates yesterday from colleges across the country with one goal in mind: Supremacy at the National Men’s Volleyball Championships next week.
“When you get to playoffs you definitely know the difference in the atmosphere, it’s a lot more exiting to play,” said Grant MacEwan captain and business student Steve Philips.
“You have to play your best no matter what.”
The team is in good spirits after recently adopting Mohawk hairstyles as they seek to take the title as the home team for the prestigious tournament.
Grant MacEwan has a stellar team that will surely be a challenge for the other top seven teams. The university has over 100 volunteers to help stage the event.
