Cole Harbour’s T.J. Grant may have saved his UFC career on Saturday night.

In a fight he was calling “must-win,” Grant improved his Ultimate Fighting Championship record to 3-2 with a unanimous decision over Julio Paulino in UFC 119 in Indianapolis.

The 26-year-old Grant was coming off a loss to Johny Hendricks at UFC 113 in Montreal in May.

Despite the win, Grant wasn’t thrilled with his performance. “I felt like I should’ve thrown more strikes on the ground,” Grant told Sportsnet.ca.

“He was strong, though, and I felt like if I gave him too much space he would escape.”
