Premier Gordon Campbell’s Liberals are on track to be record holders for avoiding answering questions with the excuse “It’s before the courts,” the NDP claims.
The Guinness Book of World Records has received a registration from the NDP that accuses the B.C. Liberal Party of using the excuse after being asked about everything from “corruption to criminal proceedings.”
Guy Gentner, an NDP MLA from Delta North, announced the possible record to the legislature yesterday and said it would be about three months for Guinness to confirm it.
“The count today is 125 and climbing,” Gentner said in his speech. “The count will continue until the end of session. It’s a dreadful record — a record no other government will want to beat.”
