Groupon’s Clicky the Clickable Value Wheel is an ungodly monster from the bowels of hell

Groupon has added an element of chance to its daily deal website by introducing a new cartoon feature: ‘Clicky the Value Wheel,’ an anthropomorphic wheel you to spin for a chance at further discounts. This would be a good thing, if Clicky was not the most repulsive mascot in existence. Look at him over on the right — there are simply some things that simply should not have a pair of eyes and mouth.

What’s behind the creation of this foul, misbegotten creature?

On the company blog Naveen K., director of Groupon’s social media efforts, wrote, “Clicky was designed to provide momentary distraction and meet the minimum threshold of amusement necessary for users to share Clicky, the Clickable Value-Wheel through social media channels, thereby virally spreading Groupon and increasing its number of active customers.”

Now that we’ve written an article about Clicky, we are officially part of the problem.
