Grouse to be open 24-7 for Games

Grouse Mountain will remain open 24 hours a day during the 17 days of the 2010 Winter Games, the ski resort announced Thursday.

The Olympics will draw people from around the world and the resort wants to offer snow activities to visitors from all different time zones, 24/7. The resort, however, will not necessarily need to hire more staff.

“It’s less about hiring more people,” said William Mbaho, a spokesman for the resort, “and more about paying attention to our staff scheduling.”

Next weekend, visitors to the mountain can get a taste of the experience when Grouse remains open for more than 48 hours to celebrate the one-year countdown to the 2010 Games.
