Growing cougar cubs newest addition to Calgary Zoo

The cubs, Odin and Freya, were found alone last year and spent nine months at the Smithers shelter in B.C. but will now call the Calgary Zoo home.

Two orphaned cougar cubs found a new home at the Calgary Zoo yesterday.

The cubs, Odin and Freya, were found alone last year and spent nine months at the Smithers shelter in B.C. but will now call the Calgary Zoo home.

The shelter had to find an accredited zoo for the cubs as they were growing fast and the Calgary Zoo stepped up.

The cats were tranquilized for the trip and will join the zoo’s other animals when they are ready, according to officials.
