Gunshots fired at Dartmouth home

Police say two people awoke to find bullet holes in the front window of their Dartmouth home yesterday morning.

Halifax Regional Police believe the actual shooting of the home on Rolieka Drive took place overnight around 2:30 a.m. but the victims apparently slept through the gunfire.

“They weren’t awoken by anything,” said police spokesman Sgt. Gordon Graham.

Police were actually called about the shooting at 10:30 a.m., and found several shell casings on the roadway in front of the home.

Graham said neighbours heard loud noises around 2:30 a.m., but thought it was only firecrackers.

A late model grey Saturn with tinted black windows and a grey primer on the rear quarter panel was seen in the area when shots were believed to have been fired.

There were no injuries and police have no motive for the shooting.

The gunfire was the second in HRM in four days.

Halifax RCMP are investigating a shooting and stabbing that may have happened as the result of a fight in Cole Harbour.

Police spokesman Cpl. Joe Taplin said a man pulled out a shotgun during a brawl in the Settle Lake area Thursday night.

A short time later police found a 17-year-old boy nearby suffering from a stab wound to his leg.
