Gunshots result in lockdown at school

Students at a Langley elementary school were kept inside for an hour after the last bell and the school locked down after police received reports of shots fired nearby.

Students at Alice Brown Elementary were preparing to head home for the weekend when they were called in from the yard on Friday.

RCMP said residents had reported hearing several shots fired and seeing the driver of an Infiniti M35 running away.

“The vehicle … contained evidence which leads investigators to believe it was involved in the initial shots fired report,” said Const. Holly Marks.

“A preliminary search of the vehicle does not suggest anyone was injured inside.”

Officers weren’t able to find the driver. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
