H1N1 claims 5 more lives

Five more people died of H1N1 in B.C. this week, bringing the total number of deaths in the province since April to 30.

Health officials also said yesterday the number of infections appears to be declining but emphasized the best way to ward off a third wave of the virus is to get vaccinated.

“Complacency would be a mistake,” Dr. Perry Kendall said.

It may take up to three weeks before the vaccine is made available without restrictions.
