Carey Price made 32 saves for his third career shutout to help the Montreal Canadiens clinch the Northeast Division with a 3-0 road win over the Ottawa Senators.

This is the first division title for the Canadiens since the 1992-93 season, which was also the last time the team made it to the Stanley Cup final, which Montreal won in five games over the Los Angeles Kings.

The win gives Montreal 100 points on the season, which is also the amount Pittsburgh has for the top spot in the Eastern Conference, but the Penguins have more wins.

Alex Kovalev had a goal and an assist for Montreal, which has won five of its last six games, while Martin Gerber made 24 saves for the Senators, who have dropped five of six.

Sabres 4 Maple Leafs 3 (SO) — Maxim Afinogenov scored the game-winning goal in the sixth round of the shootout as Buffalo kept its faint playoff hopes alive with a thrilling 4-3 victory over Toronto.

Derek Roy, Steve Bernier and Thomas Vanek scored in regulation for the Sabres, who entered the game needing two points to stay alive and got the win after they trailed late in the third period.

Capitals 4 Hurricanes 1 — Alexander Ovechkin tied Luc Robitaille’s NHL single-season record for left-wingers with his 63rd goal of the season, and Washington pulled into a tie with Carolina for the Southeast Division lead with a 4-1 win.

Devils 2 Islanders 1 (OT) — Zach Parise’s deflection goal 29 seconds into overtime lifted the New Jersey Devils to both a 2-1 victory over the New York Islanders and a playoff berth.

Predators 4 Blues 3 (OT) — Rich Peverley scored the game-winner in overtime as Nashville came back from allowing three goals in the game’s first seven minutes to post a 4-3 win over St. Louis.

Panthers 3 Thrashers 2 —David Booth scored the eventual game-winner early in the third period as Florida defeated Atlanta.

Flames 3 Oilers 2 — Owen Nolan scored with just 3:44 remaining in regulation time to lift Calgary to a victory over Edmonton that eliminated its provincial rivals from playoff contention.
