A woman was left shaken after a man grabbed her at a Halifax walk-in clinic yesterday.
Police were called to the Professional Centre at 5991 Spring Garden Rd. at 1:15 p.m.
A man entered the reception area of the Family Focus office. Police say he grabbed a female employee when she tried to leave, but she was able to escape by going over the counter.
“She was grabbed but wasn’t injured. Obviously, probably shaken up, but I don’t believe there were any physical injuries,” said Const. Brian Palmeter.
At first, the man refused to leave the office, but he surrendered to police in about half an hour.
Palmeter said there was no mention of a weapon and everyone in the office was moved to safety.
The man is in custody, but no charges have been laid.
“We are … exploring whether this could be a medical situation,” said Palmeter.
