The Halifax Pelham Canadians stayed unbeaten atop the Nova Scotia Senior Baseball League last night with a 5-1 win over the Kentville Wildcats at Mainland Common.

Mike Butler earned the win on the mound, allowing just three hits and delivering 10 strikeouts. Mark Pelham and Tyler Covey led Halifax’s bats, each chipping in with two singles and an RBI.

The Canadians are off to a 4-0 start, a game and a half up on the Truro Bearcats (1-0). They’ve also earned wins over the Sydney Sooners and Dartmouth Moosehead Dry.

The Canadians aren’t back in action until next Tuesday, when they host the Truro Bearcats.

Dartmouth, meanwhile, had its road game against the Bearcats rained out last night. The Dry will look for their first victory after an 0-2 start when they host the Kentville Wildcats at Beazley Field tomorrow at 7:30 p.m.
