Halifax Regional Police have laid charges against a 23-year-old Halifax man in relation to a stabbing last week.
At 11:38 p.m. Thursday night, police responded to the 5600 block of Marara Street in Halifax where a man was reported to be suffering from multiple stab wounds. Police say their investigation led to a Russell Street apartment where a female resident was found with a cut to her hand.
Both parties were taken to hospital for treatment, police say.
On Saturday, police say they arrested the man without incident after he was released from hospital. He is charged with assault and will appear in Halifax provincial court at a later date.
Police added the incident is still under investigation and further charges are possible.
