Halifax Regional Police are continuing to search for a person they believe was the driver of a red SUV that caused three different accidents in the city’s north end Sunday afternoon.
Police spokesman Const. Brian Palmeter said yesterday they have spoken with the registered owner of the vehicle and have learned he gave the vehicle “with consent” to the male suspect they are searching for.
Palmeter also said “at this point, we don’t know” if alcohol played a factor in the crashes.
Police say at 2:24 p.m., an SUV ran into the back of vehicles on two different streets. In each instance, police say the SUV fled the scene. A third accident then took place at an intersection on Agricola Street, after which the suspect fled the scene on foot.
There were no injuries in any of the accidents, but extensive damaged was caused.
