Investigators with an Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team busted a marijuana grow operation in the prime minister’s Calgary neighbourhood last month, an official said Thursday.

The grow-op house, which has since been deemed unfit for habitation by Alberta Health Services, is located in the Tuscany district on Tuscany Hills Way NW.

Elections Canada wouldn’t reveal Stephen Harper’s home address for privacy reasons, but provided a postal code that places his residence either on the same street or just up the road.

The Prime Minister’s Office had no comment.

Insp. Kevin Forsen pointed out that grow operations are found in every type of neighbourhood.

“It doesn’t matter what type of residence,” he said. “We’ve had some in very, very expensive multimillion-dollar homes right down to small apartments and rural properties as well.”

Shunquan Luo, 43, has been charged with production of a controlled substance, possession for the purpose of trafficking, theft under $5,000 and theft of electricity.
