Have your say on downtown plan

The first steps have been taken towards creating a more attractive downtown community.

The Capital City Downtown Area Redevelopment Plan, which focuses on bringing more full-time residents downtown, was approved by council on July 7.

Now members of the public are invited to an open house on Nov. 1 at 5 p.m. at city hall to have their voices heard about issues that concern their community.

Representatives will be present to address questions and make presentations about the plan.
The zoning portion of the plan is under review and will be looked at by council later in the year.

The downtown plan advisory committee is made up of city councillors, the province and representatives from the downtown arts community, social agencies, residential community and other organizations.

The purpose of the committee is to provide a voice that will give specific input for the plan.
