Warner Bras Canada

The new Plushline line of bras from Warner feature a soft fleece lining and natural-looking support.

Smart Set sale sizzles

Reductions are in full effect at Smart Set this week, in order to make way for the first wave of fall offerings.

Save an additional 25 per cent off all reduced summer merch, including some excellent deals on tees (as low as $6 each), shorts, skirts and gauchos (most now ticketed under $20). FF’s faves include teal linen-blend cropped pants with a low-waisted sash belt which are $19.99 and also available in rust.

Moreover, some Stella McCartney-inspired stovepipe jeans in deep indigo have just hit the floor, and for just $45 they’re worth trying on even mid-heatwave. But do be sure to only wear them with heels.

Sweet support

New PlushLine from Warner Bras features weightless support that’s more natural-looking and comfortable than the bulky stretch foam cups found in the majority of bras currently on the market.

Plushline features soft fleece lining that offers a seamless silhouette, so it’s ideal for under T-shirts or fitted tops. FF loves the lace-edged Vintage Touch style, which looks like a retro camisole yet boasts impressive support (and looks fab layered under semi-sheer blouses).

Most PlushLine bras are $34, and are available at the Bay and other retailers.

Yummy mummies save

Lots of swoon-worthy deals are to be had in Old Navy’s maternity section, and many of the separates can also be worn by those who aren’t preggers too. Top picks include patterned babydoll-style tops in oranges and purple combos with spaghetti straps and cute eyelet trim (now $19.99). Extra-long tanks with cotton crocheted detail at the neckline are also fab for before and after baby (down to just $6!).

Spunky maternity bathing suits and pretty sundresses are also reduced up to 70 per cent, so there are no excuses for looking frumpy this summer.

Beauty duty

From May to September, FF is admittedly more consumed with heat-related hair issues than with sun protection.

But there’s no doubt that sun protection needs to be a top priority during the summer months. After testing several brands, FF has concluded that Coppertone Continuous Spray 30 SPF is top-of- the-line. It sprays evenly, isn’t greasy and comes in an enviro-friendly container. Available at Shoppers Drugmart, Loblaws and other retailers for $12.99 a can. It’s also available in SPF 60 for children and the very fair.
