Fire crews were busy yesterday morning with a couple of fires throughout the city.

No one was injured when a blaze destroyed two suites on the top floor of a downtown apartment building.

Residents of the Valhalla apartments at 99 Avenue and 113 Street were evacuated from the 16- storey building to a nearby church.

Crews quickly put out the blaze and some residents of the building were allowed back in shortly after.

Also yesterday morning around 7 a.m., crews battled a blaze at a Fabric Care Cleaners at 108th Avenue and 175th Street.

No injuries were reported. The cause of these blazes is yet to be determined.
