Here’s an STD map of your city: Philly is the fourth most diseased

A new fun map has made its way to the Internet and it lets you know just how ridden with STIs your beloved city is.

The folks atRentApplication.com put together the handy dandy map using publicly available data from the CDC on rates of syphilis, gonorrhea and chlamydia (all of which are curable).

We’re not entirely sure why RentApplication, a website for landlords, needed to publish this map — but we’ll take it.

RentApplication.com even took the time to list the top 10 most disease-ridden cities in the country. An interesting pattern was how “the military helped cities rank strongly in the top 10 with Norfolk Naval Base, Ft. Hood, and Ft. Bragg all pushing their cities to the top.”

Here are the top 10 (military bases are in brackets):
  1. Montgomery, AL
  2. St Louis, MO
  3. West Memphis, AR
  4. Philadelphia, PA
  5. Norfolk, VA [Norfolk Naval Base]
  6. Baltimore, MD101341630.98
  7. Richmond, VA1
  8. New Orleans, LA
  9. Killeen, TX [Ft. Hood]
  10. Fayetteville, NC [Ft. Bragg]
So just how disease ridden is your city? Let’s take a look:
Philadelphia, which came in at number 4 (YIKES):

New York City

Boston
